Happy Birthday Dad!

These are two of the most special people in my life but today I want to tell you about my dad. Today is his 60th birthday- I know that is hard to believe because he looks so young but it is true. I want him to know how much I love and appreciate him. I couldn't imagine raising my chikdren without him in my life. The top ten things I love about my dad is...
1. He loves my mom.
2. He is always there for me.
3. He is always there for my children(who adore him)
4. He has a good heart.
5. Dad would do anything for anyone.
6. I love his emotional side. I got that from him, we have a good cry every once in awhile.
7. He loves my husband as a son.
8. He has overcome a lot on his own. Which makes me very proud.
9. I know that he loves Christ.
10. He is the best dad and grandpa I could have asked for and thank God everyday he was given to us.

I hope you have a great today. Maybe you will get that elk for a birthday present. Thank you for all you have done for me all my life. No matter what I have always know that you love me and my family and I am grateful for your love and support. Have an awesome day today and know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. And yes I am shedding a few of those emototional tears. I love you! Love Doug, Mindy, Chance, Austin and Shaylyn.

Shaylyn -Miss Soccer

I finally remembered my camera at Shaylyn's soccer practice and game to get some pictures of her. She seems to be enjoying soccer but sometimes I think she likes to pose for the camera more than she likes to play soccer. She is still at the stage where she tries to find me in the crowd and she stops and waves. It is very cute. Good job sis!

Noticed how everyone is looking to the goal! I think she was looking for me:)

Striking a pose!
I just loved the action shot.

Happy Birthday Rachel!

I met Rachel dare I say about 21 years ago. Ok that really doesn't seem possible but we met in 9th grade and have been friends ever since. We became locker partners in 9th grade and had several classes together and I think we were pretty much locker partners throughout high school. Over the years throughout school we were always friends. Our friendship was always strong, we made other friends and hung out with different crowds at times but we were always friends. In high school we would always talk about living close to each other, I think we were going to be next door neighbors:) so we could have family bar-b-ques and hang out with each other. Anyway over the years we haven't always talked often but that friendship was always there and then when she moved to Puyallup that friendship was still as strong as it was back in the day. I never thought that we would really be back living in the same city and in the same ward but it is wonderful. Rachel I hope that you have an awesome birthday today. Your friendship means a lot to me. I am grateful for you and your little family, I love your children and think your husband is pretty cool too:) I am so glad that we are friends I know that I can always count on you and you are so caring and generous and willing to help anyone in need. Thanks for being there for me for 21 years! I hope you have a good day, you deserve it! You have always been a good example to me and someone I could always come to for advice. Thanks again, I love you and I am grateful for your friendship. Now I can't have a birthday post without an awesome picture from back in the day. Don't laugh, we thought we were cool:)

Austin's Birthday Party!

Austin's party with his friends was on Wednesday and we decided to try this place we have never been to before. It was called Shankz and it is a black light mini golf place. They have birthday parties there, we were very impressed. The kids had a great time and it was nice and
clean and the man who owns it was very nice. Anyway here are some pictures of 8 crazy kids! Ausitn got to put his hand print with his name and birthday on one of the 4 party rooms they have. It really was a great place.

Chance:)

Last Saturday Chance attended his first priesthood session for General Conference with Doug and the traditional bar-b-que afterwards. I think he enjoyed it. Although he is exactly like his dad and even if he did enjoy it you wouldn't know it:) Here's a picture of them trying to get out the door and I am yelling, "Wait I need to blog your first priesthood session!" I love these two men and I am very proud that they honor their preisthood! I love you!

Chance also has been working hard in scouts. He went to scout camp this summer and earned several merit badges. He loves scouts and does great at all that he tries. Here's a picture at the court of honor where he earned his merit badge. The cool thing about the scouting program is that they always honor the mommies with a special pin that the boys pin on their moms. Our scouting program is great. Once again good job Chance I am proud of you.

7th Grade Honors Math

This is just a proud mama's post. Chance is in 7th grade and is taking honors math. He had his first quiz the other day and he got an A+. I guess why I am so impressed is because I am not very good at math and I maybe could of got 3 of the answers. And Doug who is really good at math was impressed and said he couldn't have gotten them all. Anyway we are so proud of Chance, he is always thinking about how to make something work better or how to make something out of nothing. He says he wants to be an engineer so we will see. Keep up the great work Chance! We love you!

HAPPY 10TH BIRTHDAY AUSTIN!

Happy Birthday to you! Happy Birthday to you! Happy birthday to Austin, Happy Birthday to you !

My crazy stubborn, atheletic, full of energy, always smiling, sweet boy is turning 10 years old today. I love Austin so much. But we can butt heads one minute and be snuggling the next. He is way too stubborn at times, my mom would be saying right now...he got that from his mother. I am not too sure about that but I guess it could be true. Pay backs are what? Anyway as much as his stubborness drives me crazy he can also be so sweet and loving. Here are some pictures of him over the last 10 years. What is really crazy is we didn't have a digitial camera when he was born so I had to scan some of the photos on. Enjoy!
This is his first baby picture. When I showed him he said, "What did they do to me?"
I said, "You just came out of my stomach."
He said something like, "Gross" :)
Austin and his beautiful smile.

One of the things I love most about Austin is his smile. This is what I call his signature crooked smile. I love it!
Here are just some more random pictures:)

Look at all that cash! Thanks to Grandma Gailey, Grandma and Grandpa Newbold and Auntie!
Let's have some cake!
Austin I want you to know that your family loves you very much and we are proud of the 10 year old you have become. We hope that you have a wonderful birthday today. I remember 10 years ago like it was yesterday. I wanted you so bad and I thank God everyday for sending you into my life. Happy Birthday Austin! I love you!

Fall ball comes to an end!

Jodi and I have planned on a softball team for several years now and it has been a lot of fun and something I look forward to every week. This year our team took 3rd place out of 8 teams which is really good. So at the end of fall ball they have a tournament for the top 4 teams. We lost to the team that took first place but we had fun. I look forward to the spring when we start again.

This our wonderful team of great women! Thanks for the fun season!

This is me on 3rd base after hitting it over the left fielders head resulting in a triple. Ok I know it sounds like I am bragging and maybe I am a little but I did not hit very well this season, actually I had some really good hits but they all landed in their gloves:) So for me to get a triple was very exciting.

These pictures are not very flattering be oh well that's life. And thanks to mom and dad for the pictures. I didn't even have my camera there so I am glad they got some shots for me. Thanks!

Mommy Daughter fun!

Today Shaylyn didn't have kindergarten so all she wanted to do was paint my fingernails. Ok I really do not like having finger nail polish on unless I have nice acrilic nails. But what is a mom to do. It's one of those moments that you treasure watching your baby girl try to paint your nails in a different color for each finger. That's what makes it so special. I love her and we had fun. Thanks Sissy!
