A Day of Fun

We were going to have one last little trip as a family yesterday but the weather wasn't great so we decided to stay close to home and just have a day of fun. We started off with pizza buffet at the The Rock, then headed over to a place called Charlie's Safari. This is in Olympia which really isn't too far away. My sister took her kids there and told us all about it. They really had a great time. Shaylyn was the perfect age but they all really liked it. It actually was a pretty good deal if you stay there for the day. They have a little mini golf course, jumpy toys, a huge jungle gym with a ton of different slides and a little place to shoot baskets, they have lazer tag which Shay did but I probably wouldn't do it if she was much younger and it was at a slow time so it was just the 5 of us. They have a snack bar and an arcade. They even have a parents lounge which is a kid free zone but is full of windows so you can watch your kids with a little peace and quiet. You can get the unlimited wristband for $24.95 so they can do everything except the arcade. If your in it for the day that is the best way to go. It was also very clean I thought compared to like Chuck E. Cheeses or the Odyssey. It really was a fun day for them. I brought a book so that helped:)

We also took a break about five and walked next door and went to see a movie. The Rock, Charlie's Safari and a Regal Theater were all in a row in this complex. We went and saw "Journey to the Center of the Earth" in 3-D. It was a really good movie, a little unbelievable but the kids loved it. It had some great 3-D effects. Chance and Austin loved it, Shaylyn didn't like to wear the glasses but she hung in there. And just a warning, they charge you extra for the 3-D glasses but you have to have them in order for the movie not to be blurry. It was over all a good day. I love my kids and I am happy we could have this fun day but I am also happy for school in 6 days :)

Our Annual Ward Picnic

Last night we had a yearly ward picnic in the field next to our church. We had a great time although it was really hot with little shade and lots of bees. They had water balloon toss which of course turned into a water balloon fight, they played frisbee, kick ball and of course us moms got a chance to have a little adult conversation. :)

Here is the result of the water balloon toss/fight.

I think Doug ended up more wet then anyone.

And here is my best friend Rachel and her two beautiful girls, she also has a cute little boy and husband also but they were off playing ball. Thanks Rach for being a great friend. I am so glad we are in the same ward having bar-b-ques with our husbands like we talked about in high school, even though they are not the husbands we thought they would be:) I think we both can agree we did better then we thought! I love ya Rach!

Scout Camp

Doug and Chance went to scout camp the last week in July. It was Doug and a couple of other leaders and about 8 boys. Chance loves the scouting program and he earned quite a few merit badges while he was there. The weather wasn't very good and a couple of days they got pretty wet but you know boys they loved it. Here are a few pictures from that week. Oh yeah my sweet little Chance came in second in the burping contest:)

Doggie Doo

I was walking past the back door and this is what I saw. Shaylyn holding this cute little shovel just her size full of dog poop and a disgusted look on her face. I said Shaylyn stop I want to take a picture and she was not happy about standing there holding a shovel full of poop. But that was the deal we made when we got the dogs. I'll have to say they have all been doing pretty good except Austin, as he was scooping poop today all I heard was gagging noise:) I just have to laugh:)

More of our Utah trip

We arrived in Utah on Sunday and Monday morning we had the oppurtunity to go up to Doug's Uncle Neil's property for some fun and relaxation. There is lots of space to run and play and a river that runs through it to fish on. We played some games, well ok one game, 31. It was fun but I never win and Pam always does:) We also fished on the river. The kids and I didn't catch anything but Doug and his brother Monte, brother-in-law Cecil and nephew Brandon caught a few. We all had fun and are greatful to Neil and his family for allowing us to use it. It was nice to get some fresh air and relax. The dogs loved it too. The were worn out. Aren't they so cute sharing a stick:) Three posts in one day!Gee that's a first aren't you lucky. See Kristen I do know how to post on my blog:) There is still lots more of our Utah trip but I can't ignore my whole life to blog. I do need to go make dinner and head to soccer practice.

Computer Problems!

I know it has been a long time since I have posted anything but we were in Utah for 2 weeks and then my computer got a virus and it is still in the computer shop and we were having problems with our laptop but now I have that fixed I will get all our vacation pictures posted. And hopefully I get our computer back tomorrow. Yeah!

Our Annual Trip to Utah!

So we just got back from our yearly trip to Utah. Every year for the last 10 years or so we have made the trek down to Syracuse Utah to visit Doug's family. It is always so much fun and the this trip was no exception. We did so many fun things I don't even know where to start. We had a lot first this trip so I guess I will start there.

Our first trip with our 2 new 10 week old puppies!

The four of us on a zip line at the Olmpic Park in Park City. This is something I would have never done or at least I thought. I am trying to be more adventureous and to live life to the fullest without so much fear and believe me I had a lot of fear waiting for the gate to drop and send my flying to the earth. It really ended up not being as scarey as I thought but Chance and I were about ready to chicken out but I am so glad we were brave and did it it was really fun. I am proud of myself because if you know me at all this was a huge deal for me. The chair lift ride up was the worst part:)

We also did something similiar to the Alpine slide in Park City but it was called Quicksilver but it was a track that went done the mountain once again the chair lift ride up was kind of scarey but the slide wasn't bad even though Shaylyn didn't like it too much. But still it was a first for all of us!

Shaylyn had a few more firsts!

Before we got our dogs Shaylyn was terrified of almost any sort of animal but she is doing much better some dogs and cats still freak her out but she went into this petting zoo and she pet a hosre, donkey and cow. I know for most kids it's not a big deal but for her this was huge. I am proud of you Shaylyn. Well that was a few of our family first I will add more pictures later!

Beautiful Baby Mia

Please check out Baby Mia's blog. A friend of mine had a sweet baby girl with a heart condition and needs to have a heart transplant. If you click on the picture of Mia on the right you will be able to view her blog. This is a very special family who would and has helped anyone in need. Let's see if we can help them. Thanks for any help you can give!
