Girls week in Hawaii!

My sister and I and two friends Leah and Charlie decided we needed a break from reality and we took a trip for 5 days to Hawaii. We were all very fortunate to have wonderful husbands who took care of all the mom duties that allowed us to be away for a week. Thank you Doug you will never know how much I appreciated the break and time to relax. Here is our first picture on the airplane, I think we were just getting ready to land. Jodi loves to take pictures of everything including her food which you will see on her blog:)

On Tuesday we had a fun day in the water. We hiked to this beautiful waterfall and swam out to it and was able to sit under the waterfall it was awesome. I don't have any flattering pictures of me under the waterfall so I will just spare you those.

A senic view along the way to the North Shore.
This is where we went snorkeling. It was called Sharks Cove which is a little freaky but we didn't see any sharks so it was ok. I did see a really mean looking fish with lots of teeth grinning at me which needless to say got me swimming a little faster. We did see lots of awesome looking fish. It was way fun.
A beautiful Hawaiian sunset.
Our quick stop at the temple on the way to the beach. It is closed for 18 months for renevations.
Jodi and I posing with the Duke statue.
Yes I know you can't believe it but I did it, I went parasailing. Jodi and I happen to sit in the wrong spot on the boat we had to be first to go up out of the 12 people on the boat. It actually was probably better that way because I was so scared. But it was awesome. I can't wait to take my husband and do it again.

Then of course one of the things that we really wanted to do was hike up Diamond Head. It is a pretty wild climb with lots of stairs at the top but it was so much fun and so worth it. The view is beautiful. Here are some shots from the top.

Oh and just some random shots of me when we were out to dinner and the other one is off the balcony of our hotel room.

I had such a great time and I am grateful I was able to do it. I missed my kids and husband but it was so wonderful to have time just to myself. Thanks again to my wonderful husband who ran ragged the whole week. Now he knows! I love you Doug!

Shaylyn

Today was Shaylyn's first outdoor soccer game. She has played indoor soccer before but this is her first outdoor game and she did a great job. She has always been shy and not very aggressive but she did great today. She kicked the ball a few times and ran around having a good time.

Mother's Day gift!

So as I mentioned in a previous post I left my camera on the airplane that was a connecting flight so some dishonest person has my wonderful camera. I was so upset. Anyway Doug being the sweet husband that he is bought me a new one today for Mother's day. And I absolutely love it! I am still figuring out everything but I took some pictures just messing around. I am by no means a photographer but this camera is awesome. I am excited to have a good camera again.

I am on a roll why stop now!

Over spring break we went to Arizona for the Mariners Spring Training. We had a wonderful time. Doug's mom met us there and we rented a house with a swimming pool and hot tub and it was great. We couldn't have asked for a better vacation other than I left my camera on the airplane never to be seen again. Luckily I had my little one so I did get some pictures but it wasn't the same. We went to 3 Mariners games they tied one and won the other two. The kids got lots of autographs including Ken Griffey Jr. which was kind of cool. We had a great time and I am so glad we went and that Joyce was able to come with us. She wasn't feeling too good and almost didn't make it but decide to come and it was wonderful. Here are the pictures I did get.

My toothless wonder!

Over the last couple of months it has been kind of crazy. Many of you know but, Chance was at a scout activity and he and the other scouts were messing around being boys and had a little accident. And for those of you that have boys know boys will be boys and there is nothing you can do about it. Anyway the short version of the story is he was on a treadmill seeing who could go the fastest and we now know it is not Chance. He fell face first on the treadmill and broke off his two front teeth. Mom panic set in and we raced to the dentist, Thank you to Dr. Madsen who came to the office at 8:00 pm. Anyway long story short he broke one of his teeth in 3 places and the other in 2. One had to be totally extracted and the other needed a root canal. After 5 hours in the dentist chair he has a flipper tooth which I know many of you have seen as he likes to show that off:) He also now has to have braces where before he had perfectly straight teeth with no braces in sight. He has been a trooper about all of it though and is totally OK and I think had learned his lesson. No more treadmill's for him. He was very brave and has done well with all the work he has had done. He is a strength to me and I love him very much. I got a few pictures of him which I sure he doesn't mind if I post:)
Ok so this was the morning after and I don't think he was feeling too hot.

Ok it has been awhile! What can I say life flies when you are having fun!

So I have not posted in a really long time so this may be a huge post or there may be many in the next few days. These events are in random order! But I will start with today. Shaylyn is in kindergarten and had her Modther's Day program today. It was really cute and short which was probably a good idea with 40 six year olds. She has come a long way this year and wasn't shy singing at all today. I am very proud of her. I have a couple of pictures. She did a great job!
Thanks Sissy I love you!
